The final filing date to declare for the Palm Springs City Council, was Friday, August 7th.

In District 5, I am the only candidate to file papers and qualify for the ballot. I am honored to have the opportunity to serve you on City Council for next four years.

Three years ago, my tag line was Palm Springs is the best city I have ever lived in. It still is, and I will work tirelessly on behalf of District 5 residents and this unique world-class city of neighborhoods.

My foundation is our neighborhoods and accessible City government. With so much division in our country, I am committed to being a leader who listens, helps to unify, and proudly stands for the Palm Springs values of respect, diversity and opportunity.

Over the next many weeks leading up to election day, I will hold many Zoom meetings throughout District 5 to listen to you, hear your concerns, answer your questions and to talk about our city’s future.   The schedule of events is available on our website at www.electlisamiddleton.com. You may reach me directly at: lisa@electlisamiddleton.com.

Over the last three years, we have diligently managed our budget and continued the revitalization of Palm Springs. But no issue has been more important than our prompt and balanced response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On City Council, I will continue to:

  • Prioritize your health and public safety.

  • Ensure City Hall is fiscally prudent.

  • Address racial inequity and promote full diversity, equality and inclusion.

  • Make Palm Springs the leader in renewable energy.

  • Support our local businesses, expand and diversify our economy.

  • Responsibly respond to the national epidemic of homelessness.

These are some of the most demanding times of our lifetimes. The challenges before us require leadership that is thoughtful, experienced, and measured.

Thank you for the honor of serving the people of Palm Springs.

Lisa
